My first post of 2006.

It's late.

Already the 13th. It's a Friday. *gasp*

What happened to the first 12 days of the new year?

It's absolutely flown by. Busy with training and getting settled into the Betelbox.

As most of you would have heard, amongst other things that have happened to me include spending 9 hours on foot, walking from Chinatown to Little India. 8 hours in Johor Bahru (Larkin Bus Port and Senai Airport). And a couple of days ago, I was a bit player (read: prop) in the China version of The Amazing Race.

But I digress.

The first Basement post of 2006 will be dedicated to.... yup, you guessed it... the question of 2005.

"How in the heck do penguins get up after falling over???"

Ben was so kind to email this question to penguin gurus Pete & Barbara.

And here is their answer:

Hi Benjamin

Thanks for the email and question.

Penguins use their flippers (wings) and beaks to help themselves get up – they have no difficulty at all in doing so.

Wall Of Fame

You know how some records seem as relevant and groundbreaking today, as they were perhaps 10 years ago when they were first released? These albums have left an indelible mark on my sonic psyche. They echoed during the defining moments of my life, and they were my only companions during those dark, lonely, wintery nights. These seemingly random collection of chords and whispy voices still return to me in moments of introspection. They are classics in the truest sense of the word. I have opened my ears to many a passing music fad, but these little beauties still return to comfort me.
